Customer Update - Google Security changes

  • Dark

Dear Customers,

Please be aware that Google have recently changed their security settings. This means that some people will experience problems sending email from a non-Gmail address while using Gmail as their mail client.

Follow these instructions for an immediate fix:

If your email client software prompts you saying you have an unsafe certificate or are untrusted it means it is not recognising the SSL Certificate on the mail server you have set. This is most common when using the mail server "mail.<yourdomains>", as you may not have your own SSL Certificate on that subdomain.

To get around this you have two options:

  1. Remove SSL encryption in your software. You can use a setup such as:
    • Incoming has no encryption
    • Outgoing has TLS encryption
      This removes the SSL prompts.
  2. Use for your mail server. This server is fully SSL secure and you can route through it with SSL encryption.
