How To Get Domain Password, Registry Key, UDAI or Auth Code and update IPS Tag
If you want to move your domain name to another registrar, you must provide them with your Domain Password.
A Domain Password is the code created during your first domain registration. It has different terminologies, depending on the registry.
An IPS tag is like a name label that shows which company is managing a .uk domain. When you move your domain to a new company, you update the tag so the system knows who’s in charge.
- gTLDs - Auth Code
- .au - Registry Key
- .nz - UDAI Key
- .uk- IPS tag
Follow the steps below on how to locate your Domain Password.
For .nz names:
- Access the domain name that you want to check.
- From your dashboard, choose Domains tab.
- Choose the domain you wish to manage.
- On your Domain's page, click the Hamburger Menu on the right, then select Registry Key.
For gTLDs and .au names:
- Access the domain name that you want to check.
- From your dashboard, choose Domains tab.
- Choose the domain you wish to manage.
- On your Domain’s page, click the Hamburger Menu, then select Registry Key. A pop-up box will show your domain password.
IMPORTANT:
Never give your Domain Password to anyone, as this would allow them to easily transfer your domain to another registrar. Once transferred, Freeparking will lose full control of your domain name, and we can no longer protect it.
For .UK Domain Transfer
- Request an IPS Tag Update- Since IPS tag updates must be done manually for security reasons, you’ll need to contact Freeparking Support to request the change. Provide them with the new registrar’s IPS tag.
- Transfer Completion- Once the IPS tag has been updated, the transfer will be completed immediately.
You will receive a confirmation email once the transfer is successful. After the transfer, you can manage your domain through the new registrar.
IMPORTANT. If the transfer is not successfully completed, contact the gaining registrar for assistance with the IPS tag handshake. Make sure to double-check the IPS tag details before submitting your request to avoid delays.
