Two-Step Verification

Two-Step Verification is a powerful security feature designed to safeguard your account’s accessibility. Though optional, we highly recommend enabling it to protect your Freeparking account against unauthorized access.

Here’s how it works:

STEP 1 is when you login with the usual username and password combination.
STEP 2 is when you receive a unique code on your registered phone and use it to successfully log in.

So even if unauthorized individuals have your login details, Step 2 will prevent them from breaking in since they cannot pass the authentication without the passcode.

This guide will help you manage the two-step verification system for your account.

How To Enable Two-Step Verification

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Edit Profile, then go to the Security tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Two-step verification section, then click the toggle button on.
  4. Select your country code first, then enter the mobile number you’d like to use as a Primary Phone number.
  5. Select your preferred verification method.
  • I'm ready, call me now
    • You’ll get an automated call, but no need to answer it.
    • Use the last 4 digits of the calling number as the verification code.

  • Send a security code by SMS
    • Use the 5-digit code to authenticate your login.
    • You’ll get a text message.
  1. Click Verify.
  2. On the Phone Verification Code pop-up window, enter the code you received, then click Submit.

NOTE: You must enter the code within 60 seconds. Otherwise, click Didn’t receive the code? Try again to use a different verification method.

  1. Scroll up to the Login Info section, enter your Current Password, and then click Save.

NOTE: We highly recommend adding an Alternative Phone in case your Primary number becomes unreachable. Simply follow the same procedures mentioned above, and you're all set.

How To Disable Two-Step Verification

You may disable the two-step verification anytime. Just go back to the Two-step verification section, toggle the green button off to disable it. Enter your Current Password, then click Save to confirm the changes.

IMPORTANT:

  • If you want to delete your registered phone numbers, just click  beside it.
  • If you choose to remove the Primary Phone, the Alternative Phone will automatically become the new primary. However, if you remove the Primary Phone and haven't registered an Alternative Phone, the two-step verification feature will be disabled.

Though the traditional username-password combo is convenient, we encourage you to activate Two-Step Verification for maximum account protection. This added layer of security reduces the risk of unauthorized access and keeps your sensitive information safe.

Check Your Two-Step Verification Setup

Now that your two-step verification is set, let’s check if it is properly working. Follow the guide below.

NOTE: Tick ☑ Trust this device if you wish to disable the system from asking a validation code on the same device and browser. This setting will remain valid for two weeks.

  1. Click Submit.

NOTE:

  • You must enter the validation code within 60 seconds. If you fail to do so, click Didn’t receive the code? Try again to use another verification method or your linked Alternative Phone number. Repeat this until you successfully log in to your account.
  • You can only request 3 validation codes in 3 minutes. If you exceed this limit, the next request will be blocked. You'll need to wait for 3 minutes before trying again.
